We are pleased to present this cute little vintage Postal Balance Scale. It is mounted on a small piece of finished Mahogany wood with beveled edges. The Scale includes three (3) weights marked 1/2, 1, and 2 ounces. The Scale and Weights are made from Brass. We did not find any manufacturer identification, but the side of the Scale is engraved WARRANTED ACCURATE (see 3rd picture). The base has three circular storage slots for the Weights.
The Scale is small, taking up little room, and would make a perfect Desk decoration. It stands about 3-1/2 inches high with a base that measures 7 inches by 4 inches. It weighs 13.2 ounces, including the weights.
The metal surfaces on the scale have a medium to heavy patina. The Scale pivots smoothly on its center support and is in excellent mechanical condition. The wood base has only extremely minor wear, and is in excellent overall condition (see pictures).
This is a fantastic little scale with a charming appearance. It would make a wonderful Desk or Credenza decoration, or be a fabulous addition to any Scale collection!
