VINTAGE Meissen CIGARETTE + 2 STANDS Turquoise STONES
We have here another wonderful find in this very Exciting Meissen Porcelain Cigarette Holder Plus Two Stands.
As pictured, the Holder, in its Triangular shaped Golden Filligree Footed Stand, is about 2 1/4 inches tall and has a width of about 2 1/4 inches also.
This lovely Violet Purple Holder boasts a golden trim at its upper edge. The focus of interest is in the beautiful and very delicate filligree work on the holder which serve as a wonderful backdrop for the Vibrant Turquoise Stones. The Back and Front are the same - each features one round Turquoise Stone in the center and below - we see two rectangular - nicely cut - Turquoise Stones.
Our low opening price reflects the fact that we see that there has been a repair performed at the side of the Purple Holder near the upper edge. Since this lovely holder was meant to be viewed from any side - since there really is no front and no back - it can easily be placed at the side where the repair might not be very visible.
In addition, we are featuring in this auction another similar stand for holding another 'container'. We have here only the lovely golden filligree stand which features oval turquoise stones which alternate with little round rose colored stones. This little stand can also fit with the purple cigarette holder. After the photographs were complete we noticed that one of the little rose colored stones is missing.
This Exquisite piece can be used for many purposes besides a container for holding cigarettes. We see it as a match holder, perhaps cotton swabs on a vanity or dressing table or even as a little business card or calling card holder. The uses for it are endless and are only bounded by the limits of one's imagination.
