We have here another wonderful find in this very special 42 Piece Franklin Porcelain Bone China First Lady Thimble Collection decorated in 24 Karat Gold.
The Original Accompanying Letter signed by William F. Krieg, the Vice President of Collector Relations at Franklin Porcelain reads in part:
"......Crafted of fine bone china decorated in 24 karat gold, the thimbles in this collection honor all 42 of our Presidential First Ladies. The enclosed thimbles bear original full color cameo portraits of Martha Washington and Abigail Adams......."
Accompanying the 42 beautifully decorated thimbles in this collection is the original letter to the subscriber which is signed by Mr. Krieg as well as specially written cards for each of the First Ladies which includes interesting biographical data for each Lady.
Also included in this auction is the Certificate of Authenticity which was Certified and Dated Dec. 1, 1977 as well as a Card indicating suggestions for the care of these thimbles. There is also the Price Stub dated 06/12/78 for issues 1-2 which apparently were for the first two thimbles that were shipped to the recipient.

Each Thimble stands about 1 inch tall and has a bottom edge diameter of about 3/4 inch. Together, the thimbles with all of the accompanying papers and documentation weighs about One Pound - as photographed and prior to careful wrapping and packing.
The Interior of each Thimble bears the name of its Honored First Lady as well as the following: Franklin Porcelain Logo + Limited Edition Fine Bone China - 1978 FP. The front of each thimble bears the likeness of the Lady while the back features her Initials in a lovely scrolly manner.
Please Note: The Wall Display Shelf is Not part of this auction as we did not receive it with this beautiful Thimble Collection.
These Thimbles are in lovely vintage condition and are a fine Investment which is sure to not only maintain, but should very well continue increasing in value as more and more time goes by. They will surely bring you very much pleasure as well as numerous compliments.
