We have here another wonderful find in this Delightful Group of Vintage Assorted Dolls. This lovely collection consists of 23 Dolls and Animals.
They range in size from about 11 inches tall (Carlson American Indian Doll with Papoose in Purple Outfit with Fur Trimmed Hood -- down to the smallest doll which is about 3 1/2 inches tall (Little Baseball and Football Players) As photographed and unpacked, these items weigh about 3 pounds.
The Carlson American Indian Doll in purple has a Paper identification Tag still wrapped around her ankle. She probably originally had a husband since the Tag reads: Deerfoot and Brown Bear, an Indian Family, are designers in the manufacture of this American made Indian Doll. Carlson Mfg. Co. Maple Lake, Minnesota. There is also a hand-written number in ink of 11-22. Although the 'white fur' trimming her jacket is not real fur, the white trim around her hood/hat does seem to be fur. In addition, the little white tie straps that tie under her chin are definitely leather.
Some of the other beautifully costumed dolls in this group include a Dark-skin New Orleans, Louisiana Gambina Doll. Her Apron has New Orleans imprinted in red. Her body is some sort of hard plastic while her lovely little face is squeeze-able.
Beautiful little Eskimo Doll (head has come off) - dressed all in white with beautiful little moccasins/red bead trim/ clothing appears to be soft leather.
Greek costumed Doll standing on white stand marked 'Unique". Her Blue Jacket and lovely red hat are simply beautiful!
Little Indian girl with Green feather - her white outfit appears to be leather
Little Dutch Girl - long blonde braids, blue dress.
There are also numerous stuffed and very charming animals as well as a wide assortment of various other dolls, too numerous to intricately describe here.
We also have a little wooden egg cup with a Blue-eyed face painted on. It has the word 'Bergen' written at its base. This was most likely a vacation souvenir. Since it was part of this collection when we received it, we feel that it should also go on to its new home together with the rest of its 'family'
This is a wonderful Investment in a very charming group of vintage dolls . They are sure to not only maintain, but should very well continue increasing in value as more and more time goes by. These dolls, will certainly become a most treasured heirloom for your future generations!
