We have here another wonderful find in this beautiful Antique Flow Blue Bowl. This is actually a very early Asian 7 1/2 Inch Diameter Handle-less Tea Cup for sipping Green Tea
It is beautifully hand-decorated over its lovely Flow Blue pattern. We see a Gold rim as well as small amounts of Gold incorporated into the design in various areas. Its style and appearance is reminiscent of Gaudy Welsh.
Although we see a Pattern Number of #9629 (or possibly #9689) it is difficult to be exactly sure, we see no Maker Mark.
There seems to be slight rub-off of a bit of the glaze at the lower portion of the center design. It is possible that this may have been a stylistic intention by the artist. We cannot really be sure. There is a little bit of rub-off of to the gold rim banding which is extremely minor.
In general, we feel that this exquisite Early Asian Handle-less Green Tea Cup is in lovely vintage condition.
