We have here another wonderful find in this Handsome Arts and Crafts Fireplace Base Surround.
It has been crafted of Quarter-Sawn Oak, extremely rich and quite warmly grained.
Its width is about 42 inches and its depth is approximately 12 inches. This lovely Oak piece is about 3 inches thick.
This beautiful Oak Fireplace Base Surround has been given the classic design lines inherent in its Arts and Crafts roots. The interior area is metal-lined. We believe it is most likely Zinc. This is meant to serve against any glowing embers from catching fire.
We love its strong lines and classic simplicity. What a Fantastic Find this is!
It is in lovely Vintage condition with some of the always anticipated age-related patina and surface wear we have come to love and expect in these beautiful treasures of bygone days.
Just give it a gentle cleaning, perhaps a bit of appropriate polish and it will definitely make a lovely addition to your beautiful Traditional Home. In addition, it will certainly continue increasing in value as more and more time goes by!
