- Item Description
These is for three (3) large Chinese Figurines. The collection consists of the following:
First we have a Shou Xing Figurine which is the Chinese God of longevity and old age. He is represented as an old man with an enormous Bald Head, wearing a long flowing Robe, carrying a Staff in one hand and the Golden Peach of Immortality in his other hand.
He stands about 12-1/2 inches high and weighs 2 pounds. There is some damage just above his right hand where the top of his Staff should be. There is also a small chip at his right Ear. See our pictures (above) which show the damage area. There are initials on the underside of the base of a previous owner, but no manufacturer marking was found on this piece.
The second Figurine shows a Man holding a Scroll, and wearing an unusual peaked Hat with a decorated front. Exquisite three dimensional flowers decorate the base of this piece, which stands 12-1/4 inches high.
This piece has a few tiny chips at the edge of the Platform that the Man is standing on, but they are too small to really see in the pictures. There is some faded writing on the underside of the base including the previous owner's initials, but no manufacturer markings that we could find. Overall condition is very good.
The last Figurine depicts Quan Yin who is often known as the Goddess of Mercy or Compassion. She is 12-1/4 inches high.
There is an opening where one of her hands goes, but it is missing (see pictures). On her other hand, some of the fingers are broken. There are a few other rough spots. This piece has a raised marking on the back of the base which reads W.C.W. MADE IN HONG KONG.
This is a nice collection of Figurines. They would make a wonderful addition to any collection!
