We have here another wonderful find in this very Handsome Dining Room Table.
It rises about 30 inches above the floor and measures about 37 1/2 inches by about 70 3/4 inches.
Our Lovely table comes to us from Australia and has been crafted of a beautiful example of tropical wood, extremely rich and warmly grained with an exquisite Chevron pattern meeting in the center of the table top with a wonderful sort of 3-dimensional geometric design.
Its Legs and cross bar at sides have been adorned with lovely Art Deco- Inspired raised Ormolu Insets which are also called Bronze Dore or Gilt Bronze. Its lower stretcher bar is gently shaped to mimic the lower bars at narrower sides.
We see that there are pull-out sections for giving additional length to this table. Most likely there originally were some sort of leaves which fit onto these pull-outs. Unfortunately, we did not receive these 'leaves' or boards when we received this table.
It is really in basically lovely vintage condition with only the minor age-related patina and surface wear one would expect of a beautiful piece from another era. We do believe that it is these areas, if and when they do exist, are what we really seek in older furniture. It is what gives them their special charm, appeal and character.
Just give it a gentle cleaning, perhaps a bit of appropriate polish and it will soon be ready to go to work for you bringing you much pleasure and numerous compliments.
