96 ANTIQUE Wood BLOCKS Letterpress DIE Movable Print TYPE
We have here another wonderful find in this group of 96 Antique Wood Printing Blocks. They have come to us from England and each is quite a good size measuring approximately 9 inches high by about 2 inches wide and approximately 3/4 of an inch thick.
Many years ago, printed material was produced with a Printing Press. Movable Type was used to form the words. We believe that these blocks were just such movable type.
The group consists of some Numbers, Mostly Letters, a few Punctuation Marks and a few blank rectangles - perhaps they are spacers. We are not sure. The Blocks are approximately as follows:

80 - Alphabet Letters:
A x 5 - C x 5 - D x 3 - E x 6 - F x 4 - G x 1 - I - 1 - J x 3 - K x 2

T x 4 - U x 4 - V x 2 - W x 5 - Y x 3 - Z x 2
6 - Punctuations:
We are not really sure exactly what they all are. The photographs should give you a good idea.
4 - Blanks
As you can see from the photographs, they are very well used, not perfect and the alpha-numerics are not complete - however, we feel that they are in very good Antique Condition and would be a Fantastic Find to add to an Antique Printing Collection.
This is definitely a treasured find which will only continue increasing in value as more and more time goes on and may very well become a cherished item for your future generations!
