We have here another wonderful find in this very special piece of Royal English History. This very Impressive group of two items consists of the Alfred Meakin Souvenir Plate and the Official Souvenir Programme of the Coronation of their Majesties King George VI & Queen Elizabeth.
The Official Souvenir Programme of the Coronation of their Majesties King George VI & Queen Elizabeth is dated May 12, 1937.( This Queen Elizabeth is the Queen Mother of the current Queen Elizabeth).
This booklet contains 31 Pages and makes for very interesting reading as well as having maximum visual impact. The first page features the numerous states under His Majesty's protection and the Mandated Territories. The booklet opens with a Prayer for the King's Reign and features lovely Portraits of the King, the Queen Mother and Princess Elizabeth (the present Queen Elizabeth) and her sister, now deceased, Princess Margaret. Also featured is a magnificent portrait of her Majesty, Queen Mary completely bedecked in all of her royal finery including bejeweled Crown, Medallions and numerous pieces of the Royal Jewelry displayed around her neck and upon her ears.
The Foreward is by his Royal Highness, the Duke of Gloucester, and as we turn the pages we see - very beautifully described and pictured - the Coronation Procession. Included in this description is a Map of the Procession Route which is actually the centerfold of this booklet.
There is a wealth of information and lovely pictures relating to the Coronation Ceremony and the items used in it. How interesting to read about and see pictures of the actual Coronation Chair and their individual Crowns and Orbs. Also clearly detailed is the actual Form and Order of the Coronation ceremony starting with the Preparation, the Entrance into the Church, continuing through several of these pages and concluding with the Prayer - The Deum Laudamus and finally, The Recess.
Presented upon the last page of this Souvenir Programme is the Genealogical Table showing the Descent of the Crown.
The lovely Coronation Plate features a very Regal picture of the present Queen Elizabeth (who was the child shown in the photograph in the Souvenir Programme, above described) placed within its center. Beneath her likeness is written:

The British Flags complete the border trim. Beneath these Flags, we see written:

Background of the Plate is a soft off-white tone edged with a delicate gold banding. We see its Maker Mark - Alfred Meakin England on its underside.
Both the Plate and the Programme are in lovely vintage condition. The Booklet does not appear to have any rips, stains or tears of any consequence other than just a few minor areas where it appears that some of the pages may have been stuck together at some point in time and then carefully separated. It seems to have perhaps been looked at only a few times and then tucked away for safe keeping. The back outside cover has some minor yellowing from age near its center but nothing of any major consequence.
The Plate does not have any chips, cracks or repairs other than some original manufacture imperfections - and displays simply beautifully.
In addition, this is a Fantastic Investment in a rare piece of English Royal History which is sure to not only maintain, but will continue increasing in value as more and more time goes by!
