We have here a Gorgeous Glass Bead Necklace from Egypt. It is Magnificently crafted. There is a lovely assortment of differently shaped and different types of beads in warm Amber and Creme tones. As rays of light touch its various facets, we see a veritable rainbow of colors sparkling through.
The back story we can give you is that a lovely Egyptian Woman brought several items items to us recently. She told us that some of the items had originally belonged to the grand-daughter of King Faroukh. We have absolutely no way of verifying this information, but thought it was quite interesting and simply wanted to share it.
It is a Four-Strand Necklace with the Longest Strand being about 11 Inches Long. It has a Lovely Clasp on a Gold Metal Base. This Clasp is supposed to be composed of 8 small Round Amber-Colored Stones. Unfortunately one of these little stones is missing. However, it should be no problem to replace it and in addition, that clasp area if worn at the back of the neck, would not even be visible if the wearer had Long Hair
It is beautifully and carefully strung. Most of the beads are separated by Little Tiny Pearls. The Longer Slim Amber Colored Beads have Lovely 'Swirly' indentations and shapes. There are also wonderful Glass Beads through which we can see beautiful Creamy Tones. We have not been able to find a Maker Signature.
Also Included here is the Box in which this Egyptian Lady brought this Necklace. It is a Cardboard Box measuring about 6 1/4 Inches by about 3 1/4 Inches. Its Cover and Lower Trim on Base of Box have a Very Pretty Pattern of what appears to be a Lizard Pattern in a Rich Warm Burgundy Tone. This box is in structurally very nice condition with only the normal wear which is to be expected from such a lovely vintage piece. Please see Photos of Box.
Other than the Missing Stone on the clasp as heretofore described, this Vintage Egyptian Necklace is simply Lovely and ready to be Worn and Admired.
