We have here another wonderful find in this very Handsome 1940's Book Cabinet.
It stands about 52 1/2 inches tall, is about 40 1/4 inches wide and is approximately 14 inches deep.
This lovely Book Case dates back to the period of the 1940's, is beautifully crafted and given a slight touch of the modern as well.
We love the beautifully antiqued patinated wood finish punctuated with highlights of forest green as well as the classic vertical fluting at either side. Behind its two glass panel doors we have 3 levels for storage of numerous books and perhaps other small objets d'art for visual impact.
The Left Door's upper sliding bracket secures this door firmly in place if contents to be removed are only on its right side. The Right door does have a key lock, but unfortunately we do Not have its key. It should not be a problem for the new owner to have a key cut for it if they should so desire.
As the eye travels downward, we see a touch of the 'future' in the modern interpretation of a kind of framed and incised flower design beneath the glass panes on both doors. Still further downward, we see an echo of the upper edge trim with its forest green highlights, teminating in classic tapered feet.
What an impressive and quite sturdy Book Cabinet this is!
Considering that it has a good number of years to its credit, this very Handsome Book Case is in lovely vintage condition with only the always anticipated areas of minor surface wear and age-related patina to be found in older pieces. We do believe however, that it is these areas if and when they do exist, are what we all actually look for when seeking out fine pre-owned furniture selections. After all, isn't that what really bestows the warmth, history, charm and character we all desire in our homes?
In addition, this is truly a Fantastic Investment in a Fine 1940's Book Cabinet, exquisitely crafted and extremely Functional - which is sure to become tomorrow's heirloom for your future generations - and - should continue increasing in value as more and more time goes by!
