We have here another wonderful find in this Mid-Century Mahogany Bookcase.
It stands about 62 1/2 Inches Tall, has a Width of about 48 Inches and is approximately 14 Inches Deep.
This lovely example of a quality Mid-Century piece has been constructed of a very fine quality of rich and warmly grained Mahogany. It features two glass doors framed in the Mahogany, 4 Adjustable Shelves and a Wood back. Notice that the 4th shelf has been taken out to accommodate some of our taller display items. It is resting upon the top of this cabinet as you might notice in the photographs.
It appears that over the years, a few modifications have been performed. We notice that the door handle knobs and front door lock have been replaced. We do not have the key for this lock. It also seems quite apparent that the side panels as well as its 'ceiling' have been painted a very lively shade in the purple family. This color was quite prevalent during this period in history. The left side has some damage to the wood as shown in the pictures shown here.
That being said, this very well-constructed and classic piece is in lovely vintage condition. A few simple modifications can certainly restore it to its original glory.
The possibilities for its use and rooms into which it can be happily placed are endless and are only limited by the boundaries of one's imagination. We see it in an Office or in a Den. It would be just as comfortable in a Library as in a Kitchen. In addition to being used to display books, various other smaller items and collectibles would also be quite happy to be sitting upon one of its numerous shelves. We also envision it in a commercial establishment as well as a residential setting.
It is really in Lovely Vintage Condition. Of course it does have the always anticipated areas of minor surface wear and age-related patina inherent in older furniture which can be noted in photographs which we have provided for your inspection. We do believe however, that it is these areas if and when they do exist, are what we really seek in older furniture. It is exactly what gives them their special charm and character.
Just give it a gentle cleaning, perhaps a bit of appropriate polish and it will be ready to go to work for you bringing you much pleasure and numerous compliments.
This is a Fantastic Investment in Beauty as well as in Function and will certainly continue to Increase in Value as more and more time goes by.
