- Item Description
We have two wonderful pieces of art for you today in these reproductions from the acclaimed artist 'Herbelot'. This artist was renowned for painting lovely scenes of Paris during the 40's, 50's and 60's, all beautifully water colored. Often sold to visiting tourists and treasured for years to come.
These are of two different scenes in Paris. The first is of the famed 'Les bouqinistes' with Notre Dame in its background perhaps during the summer months as he has chosen vibrant colors for this exquisite piece.
The second is of the breath taking 'Arc de Triomphe', most likely on a cool fall day. Darker more muted colors are used in this piece as it portrays the stature of this Parisian landmark. Both appear to be a reproduction of his original watercolor paintings, we see his signature 'Herbelot', in both.
The colors are rich and overall these pieces are in great condition and beautifully framed. Each print actually measures 4 1/4'' tall and 5 1/4'' wide. (Though framed each measure, 9 1/2" wide and 9" tall.)
We do see some darkening on the matting of both pieces but not the prints. The frames are in good condition with normal age related ware.
This pair would make a lovely addition to any art collection. Do not let them get away!
