We have here another wonderful find in this most Handsome and quite large - Eastlake Adjustable Miror.
It stands about 31 inches tall. The framed mirror measures about 28 1/2 inches wide while the entire width of the piece, including its two bottom 'feet' measures about 36 inches completely across. It weighs about 25 pounds.
This very large mirror has been constructed of a wonderful selection of golden oak, quite rich and warmly grained. As we would expect of items from the Eastlake period, its horizontal dark pattern lines are very lightly incised as are the small circular designs punctuating the mirror's frame corners as well as the side post corners. In addition, the mirror is graced with a nice deep One Inch Bevel Its strongly angled and shaped bottom support 'feet' add additional interest as well as support.
It is really in lovely vintage condition with the age-related patina and minor surface wear one would expect of a beautiful piece from another time. We do believe that it is these areas, if and when they do exist, are what we really seek in older furniture. It is what gives them their special charm, appeal and character.
