We have here another wonderful find in these two exquisite Limoges France Serving Pieces as follows:
Oval Platter
9 1/4 inches by about 13 1/2 inches. Underside not only bears the Maker Mark - Haviland France - Haviland & Co. Limoges - its underside edging is also beautifully painted with tiny Pale Pink Blossoms and soft green leaves to match the plate's face. Its Oval outside edge is gracefully indented, giving it elegant appeal.
Gravy Boat with Attached Underplate
Width of the Underplate is about 9 1/2 inches; The Boat measures about 3 3/4 inches from front to back. Although it does not match the above-described platter, it too boasts beautiful Pale Pink blossoms, soft green leaves and very pretty ribbon/bow detail at each of the underplate's left and right edges. Its Underside also bears the registered Maker Mark and Limoges France.
They are in lovely aged condition although there are a few miniscule flea bites here and there which are too small to even capture in a photograph. We have not detected any chips, cracks, repairs or crazing and there are only minimal utensil marks. Both pieces still exhibit a lovely sheen.
Our Limoges Platter and Gravy Boat are quite the treasures and should be a fantastic addition to your collection. They can only continue increasing in value as more and more time goes by bringing you many admiring compliments and a great deal of pleasure.
