We have here another wonderful find in this exquisite group of Three Hand-Carved African Figures.
They are all approximately the same height in their kneeling position and measure about 12 1/2 inches to about 13 inches tall. Their widths, measured at the approximate area of their knees is between 6 to 7 inches. Together this group of Three weighs about 8 pounds.
We are not absolutely certain of their Tribal Origin, however, we have been told by some extremely knowledgeable collectors that they might well be either Maasai or Samburu or possibly some other Kenyan or East African Tribe. In addition, we are not certain of their age, but in our opinion, they appear to be less than 50 years old.
In the photographs which we have provided for your inspection, we have tried to capture the amazing level of detail which the artist has expressed, making these wooden figures seem to come alive.
Viewing these figures from each and every angle is like seeing them captured at a moment frozen in time. We are quite impressed with their hair styles, facial features including teeth and ears as well as their very life-like musculature and individual body shapes. We love the rich deep blood red tone of their highly detailed garments, the women's earrings, arm bracelets, wrist and neck choker jewelry. No detail has been omitted. We can almost hear the beat of the geometrically decorated African Drum as the Male figure's long slender fingers beat upon its surface.
All three figures are in lovely vintage condition. We have not detected any damages.
In short, this is an absolutely amazing trio of Hand Carved African Figures which is sure to continue maintaining its beauty and will certainly increase in value as more and more time goes by! What a treasured heirloom this will become for your future generations!
