We have here another wonderful find in these Hand Painted Signed very Elegant Copeland Spode Plates.
They are from the Ring Alden Collection, were made in England and are marked at their undersides with Pattern Numbers of 5 and 7. The Pear and Peach Plate is the Number 5 while the Plum and Nectarine Plate is the Number 7. The Undersides also feature some incised markings as well.
These Plates have both been signed by the artist, J. Price. They have been exquisitely designed featuring ripe luscious fruits and blossoms surrounded by a delightful flower and petal feature which has been executed in relief. Not only are they a delight to the eye, their tactile sensation is quite pleasant to the touch. These lovely paintings have been set into a circular ring border giving them yet additional importance and highlighting.
They are in lovely vintage condition. We have not detected any chips, cracks, repairs or crazing. Just give them a gentle cleaning and these pieces will soon make a beautiful statement on your Display Shelves. They are certain to bring you much pleasure, a constant flow of admiration and many compliments.
