The title page reads "National Geographical Series Monteith's Physical & Political Geography In Two Parts. Part I Geography Taught As A Science Part II Local And Civil Geography By James Monteith AS Barnes And Company".
The back of the title page reads "Entered According to Act Of Congress, in the year 1866...".
There are beautiful illustrations throughout the book, with colored maps of the United States, South America, Africa just to name a few.
As seen in pictures the book has sustained visible wear. The black binding around the spine is missing in places.
The corners and edges of the hard cardboard covers are worn and fraying. The pages are discolored, spotted in areas, look to have water spots to top right corners. There are some small creased corners.
No pages are loose, one page looks to have been torn from the back. The inner binding of the front and back of book have wear, front cover is undone on the top but is still attached.
Even with the visible wear it could be restored and enjoyed with some TLC.
This book allows an intriguing look into the education System of the 19th century. A perfect find for any Antique and Vintage Book Collector or a wonderful addition to any collection!
