We have here another wonderful find in this charming group of 3 Antique Calendar Plates. Two Plates were for the year 1909 while the other Plate was for the year 1910.
The 2 Plates for the year 1909 appear to be Advertising Plates from companies doing business at the time. It is difficult to accurately identify the companies. However, we have tried our best to provide photographs which have captured the clearest representations possible. The two 1909 Plates are a tad over 9 inches in Diameter.
The 1909 Plate showing the Peaches seems to read something like Compliments of W.S. Movicar - and then perhaps their location of what might be Brighton. The Underside of this plate is clearly marked Carnation McNicol.
The second 1909 Plate featuring the lovely Rose in its center also has markings on its face directly opposite the 1909. We are not sure what it says, but it seems to read something like perhaps Flack Bros. Santa Rosa Cal. We have provided the best photo possible. Also, its underside does have some maker markings but they are much too faint to be legible.
The Third Plate was for the year 1910. It has a Diameter of 8 1/2 inches and features the two Cherubs on either side of the "Ye 1910 New Year" Bell. This plate does not appear to have any marking on its underside but does have a mark on its face beneath the cherub facing right which shows that it has a Copyright Date of 1906 - however, the balance of the written information appears to be worn off.
These plates are in very nice vintage condition. The 1910 Plate does have a small chip on its face at about 9:00 as well as some crazing and age-related discoloration. The 2 1909 Plates do not appear to have any chips but also have minor age-related surface wear. None of the plates seems to have any cracks or repairs.
Just them a gentle cleaning and they will soon be ready to be a beautiful addition to your vintage Porcelain Plates collection or for that of the collector in your life.
In addition, this is a Fantastic Investment in Exquisite collectible Calendar Plates which are 100 years old. These beautiful Plates from another era are sure to continue increasing in value as more and more time goes by!
