We have here another wonderful find in this Delightful little Covered Sauce Dish or Gravy Boat.
It measures about 8 inches across the top edge from handle to handle and stands about 3 inches tall. The measurement from back to front at top edge is about 4 inches.
We have not found any maker mark on this charming piece but we have been told by a very knowledgeable collector that it certainly appears that it could be from one of the Staffordshire Factories.
The Ladle which we are including with it is not a matching piece. However, it is an appropriate size and also a blue and white pattern, making for a nice little group.
Both of these pieces are in Vintage condition. There is crazing with minor discoloration on the interior of the bowl as well as a very small 'nick' on the interior of the cover where the ladle touches. It is not obvious and barely noticeable, but we would like to point this out to you. The bowl of the ladle has a small darkened area which also seems to be age-related.
That being said, this diminutive Covered Sauce Dish or Gravy Boat is really a very special little treasure and displays extremely well. It would surely make a wonderful addition to your collection or for that of the collector in your life.
