We have here another wonderful find in this Handsome Kilim Rug and Pillow Group from the Eastern part of Turkey.
The Rug is about 58 inches long - including the Fringes and is approximately 39 1/2 inches wide.
The Bolster Pillow measures about 38 inches by about 11 3/4 inches.
We really do not have extensive knowledge about these items except that we understand that the owner acquired them when he was in the Eastern part of Turkey approximately 40 or so years ago. Of course they are not a matching set, but really do complement one another magnificently.
It is possible that the Rug may actually have been meant as a Wall Hanging. It would really make a magnificent visual statement - viewed from any distance or perspective - with their lively vivid colors and spectacular designs!
We can see the beautiful hand workmanship that went into these two exquisite pieces. The Wool central design as well as the border designs are very thick and expertly crafted. We do hope that the numerous overall view photographs and close-ups of the face and reverse side views - which we have provided for your inspection, will probably tell you more about these pieces than a written description.
Our beautiful Turkish Rug and Pillow are in lovely aged condition - appearing to have been very well cared for.
This lovely Rug and Pillow is quite a treasure and should be another fantastic addition to your collection. They can only continue increasing in value as more and more time goes by bringing you much visual pleasure as well as many compliments.
