Here we have a vintage Pottery Figurine from California which shows St. Francis of Assisi with a bird at his feet. He is wearing a Brown robe with White trim.
The Figurine looks like it was mounted outdoors as there is a bolt protruding from the bottom of the base. Not counting the bolt, the Figurine stands 12 inches high, is 9-1/4 inches wide, and 4-3/4 inches deep. It weighs about 4 pounds. It does not have any manufacturer markings.
The Figurine shows extensive wear with chips in a variety of locations including the front of the head, the back of the head, and other places. The base has cracked and been repaired at some time although the repair seems poorly done. Most surfaces show moderate crazing. The overall condition is fair but would be a good basis for a restoration project (see pictures above).
This is a beautiful Figurine of St. Francis of Assisi that has a great deal of charm. It would be a wonderful addition to any collection!
