Featured Item: Patinated Bronze Chinese Warrior Guan Gong This auction is for a late 19th century bronze sculpture of a mounted Chinese warrior. It may be of the idol Guan Gong and if so is missing the Blue Dragon Sword. The casting is very intricate, especially on the rear haunches of the horse, which has the impressive figure of a dragon woven into the piece. The armor on the warrior has etched floral decorations that also extend into the saddle area. The rider can be removed from the horse, and the saddle insert is also removable. Overall the condition is very good. There is a small nick on the saddle where something was dropped on the piece and there are some minor casting defects on the horse's ear and the rider's beard, but overall it does not detract from the appearance of the piece. On the back of the left arm of the rider there is a small broken area where the sword may have attached. A wonderful addition to your Asian art collection. Buy it on eBay!
