Belgium - French Country Oak China Cabinet This auction is for a lovely French Country china cabinet in a lovely golden oak. We imported this piece from the north of France, so we know it is authentic. The condition is excellent! The cabinet features the beautiful shell crown as well as carving on the base, legs and drawers. There are two two glass shelves inside the cabinet, each measuring 11-1/2" deep. The glass on the doors is beveled all around and lined with a fabric cord inside. The interior back is padded and lined with fabric. There are two drawers below the glass door cabinet. The drawers have dovetail joints in both the front and back. This cabinet comes in two pieces. The top (glass cabinet) measures 52" high x 42-5/8" wide x 14-1/2" deep. Top opening 14 3/4" to underside of top. Bottom shelf has a 11 1/4" opening. Finished in black paint, original lighter color underneath. Buffalo wax overall. No back to this piece. Hand carved designs of leaves and fruit...pomegranites, I think! The top part has a center display case with a mirrored back and glass shelf. A cupboard is on either side with a shelf in each. There is also a lower mirrored back center portion. Both mirrors have large bevels, as does the glass door. The long center mirror is curved at both top corners for extra pizazz. The bottom buffet has a shelf extending the full length. All original handles. The whole top is detatchable from the base. The doors also can slide up for easy removal. Fantastic wood grain. It also has beautiful black and white marble on the buffet top. The buffet has a center drawer and a large center door. Also doors on either side for easy access.
