Arts & Crafts Armoire / Wardrobe Silky Oak

This is a beautiful Arts & Crafts style armoire which probably dates to the late 19th or early part of the 20th century. It is made of silky oak, so the grain is very beautiful. The exterior features two beautifully carved appliques and the handsome Arts & Crafts design top. The interior of the wardrobe was originally only hooks, but it has been modified slightly for modern use. The shelf at the bottom is an addition as well as two rods for hanging that run parallel with the depth of the wardrobe. There are two hooks inside for hanging. The original beveled glass shows some foxing as can be seen in the photos. This age, however, does not hamper one's ability to see themselves. It is nice that it is original. This armoire is of a good solid construction, in good condition. This lovely piece of furniture could easily be modified to act as a linen closet or pantry. If you have a bungalow or Spanish style home, this would be a great addition. Buy it on eBay!

French Provincial 2-Door Armoire / Wardrobe

This is a nice, small 2-door wardrobe in a French Provencial style. It is cream colored and accented with gold trim. The top (crown) is a lovely gold spray. There is pretty gold & cream decorative moulding on each door. It has Queen Anne feet on the base. The interior features a hanging area on the left side with five shelves / cubbies on the right. The rail from which you can hang clothes is 21" long and runs along the width of the left side. Each shelf on the right is 15-3/8" deep x 12-1/2" wide and are 12-5/8" high. This wardrobe is nice and deep (for an older piece) and could even be used to house your television and other electronic music and video equipment. The condition is good. There is a small 1/2" x 1/16" strip on the top moulding where the paint is missing. That can be touched up by you if you want (you can have some paint matched at your local paint store.) We imported this from England. It is approximately 50 years old. What a great piece for a guest room...or...a girl's room! Buy it on eBay!
